We work with a wide number of schools across Leicester and Leicestershire so that our programmes are designed by teachers for teachers.
Our wide network of partner schools means that we can offer trainees contrasting experiences during their ITT year. We work with city-based and county-based schools, schools with diverse pupil populations, and schools who are transforming the lives of the young people they serve.
We consult with our schools on our curriculum and design of resources. We meet with them regularly to get their feedback on the programme, so that we work together to support you during your training year. Staff from partner schools are on our Partnership Group – taking a lead role in advising the SCITT and its future direction. Partner schools contribute to training sessions and events such as our mock interview day. Our Subject Facilitators come from across our partner schools. And if you look at the staff lists of our partner schools you will find many of our alumni.
We work with primary schools, sixth form colleges and SEND specialist provision to create a rich curriculum that introduces you to the educational landscape in a rich and detailed way.
In addition, we are delighted to work with the University of Leicester to offer all trainees the opportunity to study and achieve a PGCE during their year with us.
