CPD for NQTs

We feel it is crucial to continue to support and encourage our graduates during their NQT year to ensure new teachers have a strong foundation to become outstanding practitioners. We will keep in contact with you and monitor your progress and our door will always be open should you need any advice or support. We organise CPD training for our NQTs and this includes :

We strongly encourage all our trainees in NQT posts to enrol on our well established Improving Teacher Programme (ITP) starting in January at Rushey Mead Teaching School. This is a nationally recognised programme developed by Olevi that empowers teachers to consistently deliver high quality lessons. It is an opportunity to reflect on your teaching, to meet up with your fellow graduates and learn about good practice. The programme is facilitated by the SCITT Programme Manager and Deputy, so you will also be able to benefit from trainers who were closely involved in your first year of teacher training and know you personally.

The ITP is an excellent, nationally recognised CPD opportunity and your school will be able to include this as part of your support programme and career development.

Both NQTs and current trainees are invited to attend a popular “Teach Meet” twilight session held at Rushey Mead School on the 26th of Octobrer 2016. This is a great opportunity for you to catch up with fellow NQTs and share experiences.

More Teach Meet dates to follow soon…
